Problem Note 61516: A PROC HPRISK step fails with, "ERROR: The application received an invalid market buffer size for the basecase from the HPRisk Engine"

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

When you run a PROC HPRISK step that references a large parameter matrix, the step might fail with the following messages in the SAS® log:

ERROR: The application received an invalid market buffer size for the basecase from the HPRisk Engine.
ERROR: Information could not be read from the HPRisk Engine. The HPRISK procedure must terminate the task.

This problem occurs when the total size of the parameter matrix is greater than or equal to 2GB. You calculate the total size of the parameter matrix by multiplying the number of its rows by the number of its columns, and the problem occurs when that total is at least 2,147,483,647. The problem is due to an overflow that occurs in an underlying Base SAS® component.

To circumvent this problem, ensure that the total size of any parameter matrix that a PROC HPRISK step references is less than 2GB.
